Phillies All-Star second baseman Chase Utley’s 2012 campaign is off to a rough start – the team placed him on the disabled list today.

He’s had bum knees for a while now, and had them looked at last week…but it would appear as if things haven’t gotten any better, forcing Utley to miss at…

The A’s made a big splash last week, one that nobody really saw coming: inking a 4-year, $32 million dollar deal with Cuban prospect Yoenis Cespedes.

He had been one of the most highly-sought free agents this offseason, and is believed to have been…

Episode 1 – The Ethnography

Scene: Classroom where final projects are being presented. The Culturally Insensitive Communication Student (CICS) is giving her presentation.

CICS: “So I chose to do my ethnography on Online Gamers, or ‘hopeless lowlifes’ as they are referred to in the literature.”

Hundreds of fans gathered yesterday outside of the Capitol Records building in Hollywood to catch a glimpse of Sir Paul McCartney as he received his star on the Walk of Fame.
“As a musician and as a songwriter, Paul’s craft, his art, is truly at the top of his game. Yet even with all of that craft that he has, that ability to put melodies and chords and feelings together, it’s the soul that comes out of his music and everything that he does that makes me feel so good. I’m so happy to be here with him to honor him today.” – Neil Young
“Way back in history, in Liverpool, when we were kids and we were listening to Buddy Holly and all the rock ‘n’ roll greats, I would’ve never thought that the day would come when I would be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I couldn’t have done it without – certainly- three boys.  So I want say thanks to those guys, John, George and Ringo, and bless them for being in my life.”   – Paul McCartney

Manny Ramirez, apparently disinterested in staying retired, has narrowed his list of potential suitors to three: The Oakland A’s, Toronto Blue Jays, and Baltimore Orioles.

The fact that his short list is made up of American League squads implies that Manny is planning on a full-time DH…

hahha, Mets. sportsvault:

Pretty good chance the Mets lose at least 90 games this year.

Hey all,

I just wanted to let you know that my mother is going to undergo some minor brain surgery tomorrow.  If anybody feels like sending her a little message, some words of positivity, or just positive thoughts, it would mean the world to me.  WIthout her I literally would not have ever created the music I have, or had the opportunities to have such an amazing musical journey.  She gave me my voice by teaching me how to sing and harmonize, and by having a huge roll in the confidence to allow myself to share it.

Anyway you can find her on facebook under her full name Karen Hoffman Embree http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1491063287                                                     if you so feel inclined:)  I would appreciate it more than my feeble language could ever express.

Thanks for listening, much love and respect to everyone!

Take Care,

Matthew Embree
